A self-guided journey through Western Sicily, designed for those who love to feel independent while being well oriented. A carefully planned itinerary that allows you to explore breathtaking landscapes, historical sites, nature reserves, and charming villages rich in tradition, with the freedom to dedicate as much time as you wish to every discovery.

Program

 Day 1 - Castellammare del Golfo

Arrival at Palermo Airport and transfer to your hotel in Castellammare del Golfo.
Briefing with our assistant and guided orientation walk to discover the charming seaside village, with its picturesque alleys and views over the harbor.

Day 2 – Segesta 

Hike along the trails of Monte Pispisa, a panoramic route through Mediterranean scrub and vineyards, offering stunning views over the Archaeological Park of Segesta.
Self-guided visit of the Doric Temple and the ancient Theatre.
4 hours walking, elevation gain +400 m / -400 m

Day 3: Zingaro Nature Reserve and Scopello

Hike in the Zingaro Nature Reserve along coastal paths, passing coves, Mediterranean vegetation, the prehistoric Uzzo Cave and the Ethno-Anthropological Museum. Possibility of swimming (depending on the season). In the afternoon, walk in the charming village of Scopello.  4h30 walking, elevation gain +400 m / -400 m

Day 4 – Monte Cofano

Hiking in the Monte Cofano Nature Reserve along coastal and inland paths up to the Mangiapane Cave. Time for swimming or relaxing on the beach (depending on the season).  4 hours walking, elevation gain +300 m / -200 m

Day 5 – Favignana Island and Trapani Salt Pans

Transfer to the port of Trapani and ferry to Favignana, the largest of the Egadi Islands. Free excursion around the village, the castle and the most picturesque coves. On request, guided visit of the former Florio Tuna Factory to discover the history of tuna fishing in the archipelago. On return to Trapani, short panoramic stop to admire the salt pans and their characteristic windmills.                                                                      4 hours walking, elevation gain +120 m / -100 m

Day 6 –  Selinunte

Excursion in the Archaeological Park of Selinunte, among Greek temples, the acropolis and the museum, reaching the nearby beach of Marinella. A route combining archaeology and natural landscapes.                  4 hours walking, elevation gain +80 m / -50 m

Day 7 –  Monreale and Palermo

Departure to Palermo with a stop in Monreale to visit the Cathedral. Transfer to your hotel in Palermo and free afternoon to explore the historic center, among monuments, squares and churches.

Day 8 –  Palermo

Free time and independent transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule.
