1st day -  Palermo

Gathering of participants and departure from the designated airport and arrival at Palermo airport. Meeting with our guide and accommodation on the coach. Arrival at the hotel and room assignment. Dinner and overnight stay.

2 day– Cinisi-Camporeale

Legality and charity

After breakfast we will leave for Cinisi at the Casa Memoria Felicia e Peppino Impastato.

A journey into the history of the Impastato family marked by the brutality of the mafia in Cinisi in the 70s. The visit is divided through the Stones of Memory on the Hundred Steps route.

The story of an operator/witness will help to understand the life and struggle of Peppino Impastato.

A few kilometers away we will reach the Valdibella winery. Guided tour, with tasting of typical organic products, where we will meet some of the owners, children of mafia victims. Lunch bag. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

3 day– Palermo

In the footsteps of the Blessed Don Pino Puglisi

After breakfast, transfer to Palermo: the route starts from the Cathedral, which houses the remains of the Blessed Pino Puglisi. Among the streets of the center, stroll through the alleys of the Ballarò Arab market. Free lunch with Palermo street cuisine. In the afternoon visit to the Oratory of Santa Cita, where through dedicated readings we will rediscover the Battle of Lepanto and the life of the young Don Giovanni of Austria. After dinner at the hotel, we meet with a witness who will tell us about the personal experience of friendship with Don Pino.

               

4th day - Riserva dello Zingaro-Scopello

After breakfast, transfer to Castellammare del Golfo. The Zingaro Nature Reserve is one of the most beautiful stretches of coast in Sicily, full of pristine beaches and unique nature trails. The prehistoric Uzzo cave is of considerable interest. Lunch bag.

Walk in Scopello near the ancient Tonnara where traditional tuna fishing was practiced: the mattanza

A few minutes from Scopello walk along paths and paths that will lead us to the Segesta waters. In these free natural spas with hot, sulphurous water you can take a suggestive bath surrounded by clouds of vapours.

Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

5th day - Palermo-Monreale

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Palermo. It will be unusual in Palermo on this last day, but as another flower of faith we will meet the lay missionary Biagio Conte and the Mission of Hope and Charity. The charism of the Mission is welcoming and giving oneself to the new poor of the cities: in the Mission they are all brother and sister.

Lunch bag. Guided tour of the majestic Cathedral of Monreale with the centrality of Christ Pantocrator and its very valuable mosaics depicting scenes from the Old and New Testaments.
